Here's Stammer's hit from the end of the game
By the looks, you just got here (I've missed you, my Crabby friend), but I said earlier in the thread that Point's goal from Kuch looked like shades of Bergenheim and Moore from 2011 playoffs.
Are we getting vintage Lightning? That was probably the most fun run I've seen them play, 2011.
Islanders are a heck of a hockey team per cooper ? Lol no trotz is a hell of a coach with a system they have bought into!
Ugh lol even Montreal and buffalo are still ahead of us
Coop gave Stephens a big compliment in his presser saying he was dependable in his own zone. Probably the best thing you can hear from your head coach as a rookie.
I actually did read that my friend, maybe that's why I thought of that goal..
2015 will always be my favorite.
No the best thing you can hear as a rookie is "here is 99 billion dollars for free"
Always feels great beating the Bruins. Hope we are starting to turn a corner with the Caps coming up on Saturday.
Rutta has been playing really well lately. Almost broke Vasys arm with that collision but apart from that he's been solid. Sergachev looks poised out there and confident. I keep forgetting we are even missing Coburn. Vasy probably played one of his best games in 2019 tonight. Thought he was superb when needed.
Cernak is our dirty thug. Stephens looks really good in the offensive zone and makes good use of his stick defending. He has hands and he's quick. His hockey smarts seem more well rounded than Joseph, especially given the difference in experience. Joseph is useless out there 9/10 shifts which sucks given how good he looked last year.
Cirelli, Killorn and Stamkos is a complete threat. Cirelli's retrieval with Stamkos is great. It's also bringing Killorn to life and then some. I can deal with losses if this is what it looks like. Scrap that first quarter bull**** and start playing like this.
Let's go for 6 points this week. Why not.
Man that first goal against was ugly. But Vas bounced back and made a couple of great saves afterwards. The big three showed up tonight which is good to see. And most importantly, we got the W and we got it in regulation.
Really happy to see the good hockey they've played after the Global Series is finally translating into wins. They had lot of good games were they didn't get the deserved wins, I felt if they just keep it up the points will start to come.
..and wow, Captain! Stamkos has been so good this season!
Don't @ me if u dont kno the OG big 3... 26-4-91
Joseph is fine. Verhaeghe is killing that line. Not athletic enough and not strong enough at this level. He is not good enough to play a finesse game at this level. When TJ comes back, I’d like to see 67 - 9 - 7 together.
The Bruins keep getting reminded to thank CBJ for last years run. Good win, need to stay hot the Atlantic is a jumbled mess.
Keep Stephens up.
And... Oh captain, my captain
So - feels like a good effort, but we also got to point out that this is at least some degree a scheduling win. Saturday is a big test.
It's a small degree though, since we were on 3-in-4. I think that still gives us an advantage, but it wasn't the same as a fresh team playing Boston on the end of back-to-backs.
I think the bigger thing is, there aren't a lot of teams in the league that can consistently contain their big line. We can do that, or at least blunt their edge, and then win on depth.
I'm just happy we beat the Bruins in regulation. Feel like we never beat them and if we do it's in ot or shootout. Hate that team.
On that note I think we actually match up against them very well for the playoffs should we make it and should we face them again. They had no answer when we stuck Point on Bergeron and I still don't think they're any closer. Heh... a rare time Cooper can definitively out-coach someone
