No morning skate for Tyler Johnson!
    We've recalled Conacher and Stephens.

    GO BOLTS!

With our record as it is, I was sort of surprised to see we're still leading the league in goals per game with 3.74.

Scoring has never been an issue this season, it's being bottom 10 in GAA.

Teej hurt? Or is this a “watch the game from above to see how much time you’ve got” cooper lesson?

Probably don't do that to a) a veteran, and b) who had 2 goals last game.

Yeah, it’s just weird that I haven’t heard anything. Body maintenance I guess? I mean, With Stephens injury record, he’s probably going to lose a limb playing in the nhl.

Sucks after potting two. Hopefully Stephens can show something.. Would love to see us play as soundly as we did the other night.

Joseph taking a seat after sitting plenty in the penalty box on Saturday

Could be a good thing for Joseph. If the team adds another forward down the road, he'll be competing with Verhaeghe in all likelihood for that last regular spot. Wouldn't surprise me if the odd man out becomes trade bait.

Hope Stephens plays well. Joseph needs to be sent back down.

I hope Stephens plays well too but it's silly to suggest Joseph should be sent down. Joseph outscored Stephens their rookie year, he outscored Cirelli and Volkov that year too. So he earned his call up last year based off that. He had a very good rookie year for the ice time and deployment he got. He was good the first 10 games this year but I believe he has 1 point in the past 15, he's in a major slump. Sitting a game or two is the way to go, not a demotion. He still provides a lot when not scoring, he just can't finish right now and is taking some dumb penalties. He really should be playing the 4th line with Gourde moving up but Cooper is refusing to budge on that line.

As for Stephens I think he should be the Maroon replacement for next year. Maroon should be a one and done here and get a better deal somewhere else. He's playing well but we need more speed which Stephens has. Stephens isn't as big or physical but plays faster and is very sound defensively. A Joseph - Paquette - Stephens 4th line is what I'm hoping for unless Joseph gets hot again down the stretch or Stephens shows more of a scoring touch than he did in Syracuse.

Here's hoping the better quality players of the NHL are better at setting Stehpens up than they are in Syracuse. I'm thinking (maybe more like hoping) Stephens is going to be hard to send back down.

After dealing with a killer hangover, I am now officially sick too. Hopefully this all contributes to a decent game against the trap masters. Gon' Be a **** show for sure.

I'm not suggesting he be sent down permanently but something needs to be done. He's brought nothing to the team so far this year. Needs a wakeup call. Maybe being benched will be enough.

So what are the lines going to look like?

    Palat - Point - Kuch
    Verhaeghe - Stammer - Gourde
    Goallorn - Cirelli - Stephens
    Maroon - Paquette - Conacher

    ?

He has been our best defensive forward this year. That’s hardly nothing.

He had 5 points the first 12 games with 4 of those points goals, he was doing fine early. Yanni Gourde had just 4 points in his first 12 games with just 1 goal, he had his rut early then found something on the 4th line. Cirelli had just 4 points his first 10 games with 0 goals, and one of those games was a 3 pointer when he was on PP1 against Toronto, he then got hot after that. Killorn had just 5 points in his first 11 with only 1 goal before be got hot. Johnson had a stretch of 1 point in 11 games. The last 15 games haven't been good for Joseph but to say he was useless all year is just wrong. He hasn't found the chemistry he did last year and is struggling, a game or two off hopefully helps, I think he's still useful even when not scoring.

Maroon-Paquette-Gourde and the top line should be set. Stephens and Cirelli have shown chemistry in the past, so I wouldn't mind seeing Conacher and Verhaeghe on Stammer's wing.

I think his first goal with be a shorty. I don't really seeing him playing in the top 6 much, obviously the bottom 6 has better playmakers than in Syracuse. I don't know if he'll be a big time scorer regardless, more like a 15-15 guy who scores a lot of dirty goals, a Paquette with playmaking ability.
