Yeah, and they promoted Nabakov to goalie coach, Ricci to asst and their like 20+ year serving AHL HC to the other asst gig. Very interesting stuff. Wouldn’t be surprised if it actually works, honestly.

Evgeni Nabokov is an interesting pick as a goalie coach. I wouldn't think his style would translate to coaching.

All of the staff hires are basically Peak Shark - bringing the band back together under Boughner.

Garbage player that also happens to be expensive. He'll be lucky to find a new home unless it's a swap for a forward on an expiring contract.

Bogosian is a walking injury. He'd probably be out 6-8 weeks from a big sneeze.

Main problem is that he's just not good.

You know those Guinness records for longest paper airplane flights and whatnot? He should win one of those, but for cruising on draft status.

Jarry with his 3rd shutout in 4 games. Do the penguins have a new starter?

Koskinen not trending in the right direction either. 1st 10 games .928. Last 9 games .900.

Over the past 30 days the worst goal tending tandem in the league.

Good thing they are scoring 3 goals per game, but their goal differential is -1. Not a recipe for long term success.

Mike Smith is .838 over his last four games.

Last night's Oilers postgame thread made for a fun read. Couple of gems:

Talk about a walk down memory lane.

They are less than impressed. (or should it be fewer than impressed?)

The West is crazy tight. 8 points separate 1st from missing the playoffs. Anyone want to take a guess on how many points it will take to make the playoffs?

Duclair wins it with a hat-trick vs CBJ. Wennberg was in the box for the last goal, in OT.

Kessel has played objectively worse than Duclair ever did yet nobody seems to mind. Funny how much reputation can help or hurt a player.

Well, they say Duclair wanted out. If it hadn't been for that it would have been very different IMHO.

I don't blame him. He got the opposite treatment from Kessel.

I'm certainly not going to argue Kessel is playing well but your hard on for him might not be healthy.

Nice to see him apparently finally figuring it out. Took him long enough.

I'm not sure how you can say "nobody seems to mind"... Kessel gets a LOT of stick on here for his poor play (justifiably imo)
