That would put them at 37 points through 36 games. 84-point pace. I think 11 is pretty low for this team to have any chance at a wildcard.

I'd guess 9-12 points. Probably be 16 or 5.

As someone else mentioned somewhere we are a third of way thru year (27 games, 26 points). The 8th place team (Pit) is on pay for 97 points. So we would need 71 points in 55 games. 35-19 -1 or 34-18-3 or 33-17-5, etc.
Now you have a 10 game winning streak and it becomes reasonable, but right now doesn't look good.

It is. I think CR was suggesting a bare-minimum scenario.

I wish I could revise my vote to between 80-87. Might as play the rest of the season like a developmental AHL team because that is where it seems 1/2 the roster belongs. I feel like this has been the youngest team in the league for 5 years. At what point will they get older and have veteran leadership?

We've got quite a bit as is. But they've been around for a while, so they're scorned and dismissed as Not Savoirs that need to be traded.

It is apparent to me that Foligno. Jenner, Cam and Savard aren't leading this team to a Stanly Cup anytime soon. Are they bad players? No but they aren't the kind of veterans that should leading a team, They are solid (most of the time) role players, who on the right team, would be more valuable than they are now. The Jackets problem is they don't have a Claude Giroux or a Patrice Bergeron/David Krejci/Brad Marchand level of veteran to lead this team. Hopefully 4 to 6 years from now they all will be gone and PLD, Jones, Werenski,Tex, Bemstrom will have developed into a solid veteran group that can lead the youth of tomorrow to better things than what we are currently getting.

Agreed. This is EXACTLY what I was saying in the “tanking” thread. Those older guys are not good enough to lead the team.

Might add Bjorkstrand to that new veteran group as well.
