Research the other 30 teams. It is easy to say Winnipeg makes bad waiver pickups when that is the only team most of follow.

You are VERY MUCH overstating Luca Sbisa's value. He has played a total of 39 games the past 2 years. He was signed during this season by Anaheim and immediately put on waivers only to be claimed by Winnipeg.

He's already taken Laine out, and that was just one practice.

Even though he hasn't played a game yet, I'd say that the fact he sat around unsigned until late October, and then when he finally was signed, he was immediately waived so he could be sent to the AHL... doesn't presage great things for him as an NHL-level defenseman...

Potentially injuring Laine at practice doesn't raise his value, either... ;)

So we are shoehorning into tonight's lineup a guy who who hasn't played an NHL game since last January, has had all of one NHL practice since then, and has sucked for many years, over Heinola or whoever isn't injured on the Moose?

Are we back to the Twilight Zone years of Harrison and Strait?

How do I kill this pain?

Been content with what Sbisa has brought so far. Nothing fancy, but responsible with & without the puck. Read a lot about his bad positioning but I haven't seen that (yet?). Better option than Dahlstrom and Bitetto IMO.

What are the thoughts about Sbisa so far?

Sbisa is better than the Potato and the Dullstrom but that doesn't really say much, kinda like saying a zit is better than a boil or hemorrhoid!

Pietrangelo could be available?? Very pricey but ...could you imagine him with Kulikov or Beaulieu or Sbisa or Dahlstrom or Bitteto? Wow. Mind you we would probably be less Ehlers, Connor and Byfuglein plus a 1st pick to Pietrangelo for10+million per season.

Hes not better then bitetto put he can play the right side better. So he gets the job. And as bad as they are they are middle of the pack defensively. So how bad are they really.

    Bitteto hasn't been bad either.

Both of them have been better than Kulikov and Dahlstrom

    Eye test or stats?

To my eyes Bitetto has been the most play it safe D-man Jets have, but he has also been a black hole offensively.

Kulikov has been getting better on my eyes, and while he has been bit risky, he has at least some upside offensively whereas Bitetto has zero, and Sbisa not much.

Dahlström is not making any difference, if you replace Bitetto or Sbisa with him. Stats seems to agree.

Kulikov is the only guy of these 4 that can play like real NHL D should. Rough season start, but I think he is warming up.
