The "malaise" was 2 seasons ago. Ehlers definitely got hurt in the Blues series last year. He left one game, and barely played the next game.

I dont understand why there is a need among people to conflate the last 2 playoff years when it comes to Ehlers. He was not good 2 playoffs ago, defenders just let him spin his wheels into a corner. He was much better last year, as he was able to enter the slot and get good shots off, just didnt go in.

This is just an appeal to authority. He was scratched. He is bad. Ridiculous.

Ehlers wasn't scratched. He was held out of the game because he wasn't feeling right. If he was scratched he wouldn't have practiced in his regular spot before the game, or is Maurice now the kind of idiot who'd scratch a player because of play but then run practice like he's going to play? What's the simplest explanation? Explosive Diarrhea :thumbu:

And Ehlers was better than Connor last year.

To discuss the actual topic of the thread, good to see Connor picking up his offensive game recently. He's not going to be a great two way player but he can absolutely be an elite offensive talent. I'd love to see a frame breakdown like some guys used to do on here to see how fast he was going when he pick-pocketed Myers. Looked like he was on fast forward,

It took 4 seconds to go from our blueline to putting the puck in the net , so he was doing 100 miles an hour .

Yeah he was playing on a broken foot from blocking a shot.
