It took Morrissey a good 20 games to really get going in the AHL at the same age that Ves is now. I think we are still a ways out from calling him a dissapointment.
It's a good year for competition, especially with Letestu out. I don't think Harkins is a strong as Gustafsson on the draw, so he'd probably start as a winger. Another injury and he could get the call now. I'd like to see Harkins-Gus-Chibisov as a grind line down the road. But as long as we stay healthy Perreault will be one of the wingers on the 4th line. Bourque isn't taking himself out of the lineup either. Nothing special, but not a liability either. Harkins between the two would be a different look, it is conceivable that the Jets could send both Suess and Shaw back to the Moose, and give him a call, and the honour of a 1st NHL game, during the homestand.
When healthy and we have MP available on the 4th, we actually have the opportunity to use the 4th line. That Maurice doesn't, IMO is a problem and a waste. The only thing Bourque brings to the lineup is that he's cheap.
That should help with the confidence. It's like that first piss after downing half a dozen beers. The scoring floodgates will open.
It's firewagon hockey out there today. I'm not worried at all about Heinola's overall D-game at this pint in his development, and while I think Niku's definitely has room to grow he's also a smart, mobile player who should be honing his game in the NHL over a throwback like Sbisa.
I like Luoto but there have been better performers on the Moose roster who I would have called before him.
Agree, but I would bet that when Chevy asked Maurice based on training camp, Luoto was who he wanted to see.
