I think Harkins will come up for Gus when he's earned enough NHL dollars to stay on this side of the Atlantic.

 

The only thing that I can see is they want him to get a lot of games in at C playing big minutes.

 

Have a better training camp so he can impress the NHL coaching staff.

Berdin was incredible in this game.

Chibisov was a beast on that 4th goal.

 

Berdin would be on sportcenter every night if he played in the nhl.

 

Back to back shutouts for Berdin. Won 3-0 tonight.

Is Harkins playing LW or C?

He was always pretty strong defensively at C. If he has got the offensive side figured out it would make a big difference to our organizational depth at the position - if he is playing centre.

 

According to Vincent he has been playing exclusively at C this year.

 

I'll take that as good news then. A potential middle 6 C is developing.

 

MAN I hope he makes it to the Jets. He’s awesome.

 

I'd be thrilled with a 4th line C that can bring some offense.

Gus should be with the Moose working on his offense.

 

Honestly I think Gus has looked pretty good offensively given the situation. He gets chances and has been setting them up too, just hasn't happened. He's really impressed me.

With that being said, I agree Moose might be the best place for him. Do we know if he has the option to go overseas?

 

I'm not that sure that playing in the AHL is always a great option to give a player a chance to "develop" their offensive game.

AHL play is scrambly and players are often playing with players who lack top hockey IQ. It could actually lead to some down-grading in offensive play, because you start to learn how to make plays for lesser talented players.

I think the AHL is good for a player to learn how to play a consistent high-intensity game and to deal with physical play. Some young players need that, but others don't. Some players seem like they are "developing" in the AHL, when all they are really doing is getting stronger and faster.

 

We have a few 4C's already. Not sure about the offense part. But what C is going to get any offense with 5 minutes a game and lesser wingers?

I think Gus needs to work on his skating. That is more of an off-season project, I think. Improve the skating and some offense will come.
