It was a Milbury-esque trade. Jarred Kelenic is gonna be a star in 5 years.

Didi to the Phillies. Right move letting him walk imo. He was great teammate and clubhouse guy and really good short stop but Torres is the future.

take that money and allocate it towards Cole.

    Only a one year deal.

Feel bad for Didi that he wasn't in the Yank's plans. You could tell he loved it here. Was solid all around for us. Wish him well.

And the Phillies keep getting better while the Mets continue to smile and say "aw shucks they got him!"

Didi wasn't the same this past season. Torres looked better at SS than 2B last year, DJL is a gold glove 2B, Gio is awesome at 3B. Voit and Ford platoon at 1B.

Loved Didi, he did awesome replacing a legend like Jeter. I wish him the best.

Wow. Yankees are WS favorites now. Cole, Severino, Tanaka, Paxton in that rotation. Yikes for the rest of the league.

Maybe this is the Yankee fan in me talking but who cares about how much money Cole is making? There is no salary cap and if he brings a World Series to New York it is all worth it.

Also, loved DiDi but I do think him being a lefty helped out tremendously hitting wise.

Gonna miss Didi, he will always be remembered fondly in pinstripes. I hope he rips the Mets a new one all season. :)

I know, but it's fun to pick at the Mets' frugality while every team around them continue to get better.

I wonder who the Yankee fans and Mets fans are on here. Your saltiness reveals who you support.

I am going to be an insufferable prick Yankee fan without hesitation.

    Exactly.

All kidding aside -- the past couple of years, the Yanks have been fun to watch. Pretty enjoyable and likable bunch.

Yankees fans, however, are really the true *****ebags --- and the reason most people hate the Yankees. (and no, I'm not a Mets fan -- THAT team is completely unwatchable)

And since they have purchased themselves another All-star, I'd say most Yankees fans will resume being the arrogant toolbags which they are.

Mets were pretty watchable last year actually.

Yankees had a cute little thing going with their "baby bombers" thing a few years ago. Almost not hateable actually. But as usual they take the easy way out when then dont win.

As a Mets fan, I never historically "hated" them like I hate the Rags. But in 2001, after they were in the World Series, had it wrapped up until Mariano blew the game, the response to not winning was to go out and sign Jason Giambi to a record deal when they already had Tino Martinez playing 1st with Nick Johnson - the top first base prospect in the game - waiting in the wings. Its one thing to go out and spend on an area of need, its another thing to go out and give out the biggest contract in baseball just because you can. After that, while I don't hate them, I can't really ever root for them although I still find myself rooting for them over the Red Sox because, well.....they're from Boston.

The Mets were absolutely unwatchable for a majority of the season
