Honestly he normally does. He’s easily a top 3 striker in this league.
I don't like the break between this round and the actual final
The schedule is better this year but MLS is still so weird indeed. Why 11-12 days before the final? Not the best way to keep the momentum for the teams and tv as well.
The one thing I like about the delay is it gives players battling an injury a little more time to get healthy, or at least in playable condition.
Well time to start drinking and not happy drinking either.
TERRIBLE ****ING CALL!
Holy **** Nick Deleon!
Off to Seattle!
Third time in 4 years, going to be a good one!
Hard to believe we have another Seattle TFC final. No one saw that coming.
Is it now happy drinking?
The mentality behind the drinking quickly saved when Westberg saved that PK!
Those who think the level of play is improving that much in MLS, well this TFC team sans Altidore and Gonzalez making the final is another proof of the contrary. I don't know if it was only the horrible field but the game was so slow and boring. At times I prefered to watch the baseball game. TFC 2019 is a good little team well coached nothing more.
Before anyone accuses me of being only anti-MLS I'll say LAFC-Seatlle game was excellent on a real grass-stadium.
I'd have prefer the final in Toronto for sure, those fake fields must slash in half tv ratings. What is the league waiting to adress this?
The league isnt going to address it haha
Seattle and Atlanta are 2 of their biggest draws and the league isnt going to force Blank/Hanauer to build a new, grass soccer specific stadium.
Biggest draw at their stadiums but not on tv. Probably half the potential tv viewers turn off the game when they see those fields.
Those teams could EASILY have a grass field like they have in Toronto for soccer and 8-9 football games a year.
You know what's funny about this comment is that in reality 4 of the top 5 teams in terms of ratings this season actually play on turf fields.
Ratings: NFL on CBS, Lakers-Warriors, WNBA Finals, MLS
Come on man. People don't tune into games to see what kind of grass the team is playing on.
You speak about regional ratings for those cities. I'm talking about MLS global ratings. Yes of course fans from Portland watch their games but the rest of the country doesn't watch games on turf in Atlanta-Seattle-Portland as much as they would on real grass etc.
I consider myself a big fan and I almost never watch games on turf.
Playing games on grass instead of turf would have very little impact on viewing figures.
A great background surely helps tv ratings. Something terribly ugly to look at turns people off it's not rocket science.
And real grass helps the quality of the game a lot as well so it's a win-win.
I think the viewership record for a soccer match in the US was this years WWC Final. The previous record was the 2015 WWC Final, which was played at BC Place, whose playing surface is...
This was the National Team in World Cup Finals once every 4 years or more stuff. It's completely irrelevant to weekly MLS matches on TV.
I know a lot of people who simply don't watch when it's those ugly fields. A good backdrop is important on TV. Why do you think they hire people to build great decor for tv shows? The eye aspect is super important when you have tons of other things you can watch or do.
And even if people don't really care about the look, the game quality is hurt a lot by those field so...
You do know some of the teams who use turf fields are actually the best backdrops for MLS? Seattle and Atlanta consistently draw over 40K a game with incredible atmospheres. THAT's the best advertisement for the league. When Atlanta is rolling and dominating their opposition, Martinez is scoring goals and then you have the whole stadium doing their A-T-L viking clap chant, that gives me chills and I couldn't give 2 ****s what kind of field they're playing on. Now teams like Vancouver and New England you may have a point because their fields suck and they suck so of course no one is going to watch them because ESPN and Fox are smart enough to not put them on National TV.
I counted the number of times all of the teams with turf fields play their games at home on national tv during the regular season
(ESPN, FOX, Univision)
New England: 0
You are basically saying that you would rather watch Colorado at home rather than Atlanta at home.
No I would rather watch Atlanta and Seattle play on real grass in front of 40K.
They have no excuses at all, they have the money and the temperature is better than in Toronto.

Curiously enough, I see nothing in there about recommendations to actively sabotage charter members so as to get them relocated.
Still bitter? Me? What would make you think that?
Also, it's not official yet and probably won't be until Monday, but it looks like Nagbe is indeed finally coming home after rumors of it being a thing for most of the past year:
