If we can’t beat good teams we have no business making the playoffs.
Like I said. He didn’t own us. He didn’t face many HQ chances. We however made dumb plays that cost us the w
Is it time to start following the Miami Heat?
Florida? They honestly don't look discernibly better than last year so I doubt it right now. Finished with 86 points last year, and assuming they lose vs Boston, on pace for 90 this year.
Fortunately the Leafs are gonna lose and look bad and Montreal and Buffalo don't worry me, but it's all irrelevant if Florida can't string Ws together.
This was a huge homestand, assuming they lose vs Boston and beat Ottawa (anything can happen but humor me) they'll need to beat Dallas to ensure a winning homestand at 5-4. I was expecting 6-3. And considering the 5 of 7 played at home before this 9 game homestand, right now they're 6-5-0 their last 11 home games. Just not gonna cut it
Hell, I might consider just hopping on 75 and becoming an Everblades fan.
Perimeter Panthers strike again, so sick of the unwillingness to shoot from everywhere and not automatically sticking 1-2 guys in the opponents' crease to cause some sort of havoc for Greiss.
Too bad Panthers couldn't play like they did in the 3rd all game. They looked dead the first 40 minutes.
Bob played amazing again. Multiple no rebound saves.
The puck went off Acci's glove on the first goal. Shot was going to hit the right side middle, and ended up going very left side of the net. Nothing you can do there.
The second goal was obviously a bad turnover by Weegs. Not sure how you'd coach the stupid out of that play.
Not sure if I watched the same game as most of you, but I thought Tro played pretty decent, his whole line really.
It's a shame people think Tro took a bad tripping penalty in the third. It was a dive. I watched it many times over. When your stick touches the opposition's right skate, there's no need for instantly thier left skate to spring up hip high in the air. Islanders dove a lot tonight I thought.
Someone mentioned it in this thread earlier, if you would have told me before the game that Hoff would have scored on a two-on-one with Pysyk, no way I'd believe you. Good to see Panthers finally cashing in on an odd man rush.
Frankie had a bad first half+
Thought the Barky line was definitely off tonight. Huby was one of our worst players tonight. He was really dragging ass.
Best news of the night is Panthers are done playing this team in the regular season.
Folks, it’s a long season, schedule is harder upfront, we’re still very much in it, peaking early like the Isles isn’t often the best thing, remember Blues last year? Every year in fact a number 8-6 seed catches fire end of season and wreaks havoc in playoffs. And every year a top or near top seed crumbles like Bolts and Caps and ultimately Isles last year.
It’s a loooong season!! Marathon, not 400m...
Good old Panthers. Never can have all departments working at the same time. When we can score defense and goaltending sucks and vice versa
and we are 10th in the conference. 2 points out of 12th
11th actually, but 4 points out of 6th. with 1-2 games in hand on most teams. It's very early, but Florida needs to turn things around.
Yeah I still think we're ok, but the leadership group of this team has to look in the mirror and decide if they want to make the playoffs or not. The effort level just isnt good enough right now.
He has done that for his whole panthers career.
Again it was basically one single brain fart that decided the game. Otherwise it would have been another goalie battle.
The margin of error is so slim. The good teams either have the firepower to score a lot regularly or they manage to not keep these mistakes to an absolut minimum.
I would not be too worried yet since our offense has shown how capable it can be. That they go through up and downs is inevitable (we unfortunately don't have a MacD or Pastrnak). But those miscues on the backend have to stop (Matheson, Yandle, Weegs,... to name a few responsible ones of late)! No use of having a hot goalie when we ruin the games like that
Bob plays great offense isn't there. Bob plays ok, offense is there.
We are now 11th lol. This team is plummeting with nothing showing me that they are better than their record.
They can beat teams lower than them (struggle with that too) and that's about it. They've lost all their spunk they had at the start of the year. Guys look lazy and disinterested. Depth scoring is non existent and the amount of brain dead defensive plays they make is mind boggling.
There is no real solution to fix this team, but I wonder how much longer DT can sit and watch this debacle happen in front of him. This team was supposed to be a lot better this year. His ass is on the line you'd have to imagine.
Same Panthers team ....every....year
Well, sure, the team is actually not in terrible position in the standings. If Bob can continue to play like he has in the last week, the Panthers will win a lot of games and make it to the postseason.
What's irksome is that the scoring (for and against) is starting to regress back to less ridiculous levels, and right now it almost seems like they've forgotten how to win a game that isn't 4-4 late in the third. It's mental, I think.
Old tro played the same. But he was new around the league and teams have figured him out.
Trotchek has below average hockey sense and couldn't adapt his game. And that why he'll never be good again: low hockey IQ. Stupid player in other words.
And you're right, he's playing like that one man team from a beer league. But he's in the NHL where he looks ridiculous 80% of the time making his plays.
Games in hand?
We don't have games in hand anymore...
Yeah we do...
A one line team's only line goes cold. I guess this is what it looks like.
Season is 37% completed.
Very early to be hardcore scoreboard watching.
Wake me up in January
