I'm not saying that we are done, but talking about St-Louis is totally irrelevant.
Can we have a dedicated Trochek thread? I’m over his ass and wanna rant every post game about this cocky clown.
That's exactly why we're going to lose lol
So he should be fired after assembling the most talented roster infranchise history?
Yes, because the bar is super low, hence "pathetic," if the pieces don't work well together (middle six and D to a degree), and he's had a decade to come up with the roster. Just because it is full of talent, doesn't make it a success. And he should be judged on the results, not on the roster.
Trade Trocheck, Malgin, and Pysyk for a second line forward. Trocheck has always been selfish and he isn’t a team player with his line mates. All that he cares about is him.
Yeah, he does.
It makes it more frustrating because he can only make so much of an impact. Really need the core guys to "get it".
Main reason I was happy we hired Q is because the old "it's the coach's fault" excuse can't be applied on the 2nd winningest NHL coach of all-time. By no means are we out of it, but with our division being so weak this year, no playoffs is absolutely unacceptable.
Every coach has an expiry date. He was fired from Chicago. Babcock was regarded as the best coach in the NHL not that long ago (I never thought this btw). And look how he is viewed now. Trotz was regarded as a choker in the playoffs until he won it all with the Caps. Then the narrative changed to him being an amazing coach who guided the Caps to a cup victory.
I do think Q is still a good coach, but doesn't mean he shouldn't be held unaccountable.
Obviously I know we aren't st. Louis, they were just proving that it can be done.
I'll remember this comment when we play St Louis on March 10th and 21st.
So it looks like I'm the only Panther fan who likes the Islanders....
Certainly prefer them more than most of the Metro division!
1. Read their thread (last 5 pages and get back to me). What's the deal with their fans? Making fun of Florida's attendance is objectively dumb when theirs is worse with a much better team
2. I have nothing against the individual players but their hockey is just so boring, they generate the least chances and give up the least chances in the league. They're the new Wild. Natural stat trick has the high danger scoring chances from last game as 4-3 Florida which is the least combined in any game all year lol
And for what's it's worth I have no issue with talking mad **** about other teams on your board, but if you come over and troll and ironically like posts you're a clown
Completely agree, but at some point we need to stop blaming the coaches and start questioning the makeup/identity of this team.
Pros: 14th, 9th and currently 6th in offense for past 3 years. Always a top 10 team in SOG the past 4 years. For past few years we've been good on special teams (we were even #2 on PK during Rowe's tenure with a lot of the same players).
Cons: For past few years we've been consistently slow, soft and bad in goals against at even strength since Gallant left.
Somehow it all translates to mediocrity. Even Boog's best season (technically amazing 2nd half of the season ) we were just a bubble team fighting with bubble Philly/NJ/CBJ who were all surging late like we did.
There is not a more insecure fan base in hockey than the Islanders. The current fanbase has hazy stories of past dominance/stanley cup championships from their parents/grand parents and have been in a complete state of flux over the past 10 years first finding an owner that would bail them out and second finding a stadium to play in.
They will always be playing in the shadow of the Rangers. I feel bad for them to be quite honest.
When I reread the GDT, I didn't find much about Conns getting robbed with about two minutes left in the game. I am not one to criticize him, but you got to score there. Tro gave a nice pass, and even though on a sharp angle, you still got to finish. That would have basically guaranteed at least one point.
Tro's pass was in Con's feet, watch it again. It was NOT a good pass and that's what caused Con to take a beat to put the puck on his stick.
EDIT-Nevermind, you are right. Connolly took a second to cradle it and it bounced off his stick. The pass was fine, my apologies! Definitely should have one timed that in the net.
I guess that's where I disagree, I don't think it's that talented and it comes from poor drafting and relying on other teams' spare parts to fill the roster.
Trocheck: 4 goals in 24 games
Vatrano: 7 goals in 31 games
Malgin: 3 goals in 26 games
Boyle: 4 goals in 24 games
for the 4th line acciari has 5 which is great but sceviour has 2. Toninato has 2 but he’s only played in 14 games.
Vatrano’s production is fine for a 3rd liner plus he brings speed and a grittiness to his game that this team is lacking. But Trocheck, malgin, and Boyle aren’t bringing anything.
we have a 5-man offense in barkov, huberdeau, dads, hoff, and Connolly. After that it’s nothing.
it’s weird to complain when we’re the 6th highest scoring team, and we just started getting good goaltending in the last 4 games, the offense should bounce back, but the middle-6 excluding hoff, conn, and vatrano (hasn’t scored in a while though) is bothering me. And that applies to the 4th line too aside from acciari.
Why are window licking Isles fans in here ironically liking posts—insane gigabrain trolling.
Let us be sour grapes in peace. Your team plays well, with a suffocating defensive system. Congratulations, I’m happy for you but understand it is going to piss fan bases off...
Are you back from Leth?
Tomorrow baby just in time to watch Boston 360 windmill dunk on us.
Yay we’ll be 15-19-5, almost identical record then. Stanley Cup is ours!!!
What is also hurting is the fact that even when we lost before we’d do so in OT. You have to walk out with points. Anything. These regulation losses are killer
