Is it strictly a cost issue? Supply? How much more could it possibly cost.
It is in Mexico.
In US they just like HFCS
I see (and consume) cane sugar soft drinks made by small bottlers & sold locally all over the Midwest U.S.. Sort of a craft industry segment. Maybe they can afford to charge more than the Cokes & Pepsis of the industry because the targeted consumers are willing to pay the up-charge to avoid artificial sweeteners & the evils of corn syrup.
it is strictly a cost issue.
it costs quite a lot more at scale.
Because pineapples are not composed of gorgonzola.
I thought everybody knew that.
Also corn subsidies.
Coke Georgia Peach &
Coke California Raspberry are both made with cane sugar
Coke Life is sweetened with cane sugar & stevia
Lots of soft drinks ARE made with cane sugar.
Local place in the Twin Cities called Northern Soda is all cane sugar. Costs more than regular mass distribution soda but far better tasting. More calories (~ 10 per can vs comparable flavor) though it somehow tastes less syrupy. Bought it at a silent auction for charity--normally don't drink more than a can of soda here or there once a month but i plan on visiting their brewery (?) to check out what the shelf life is so i can keep this around if i feel the urge. I don't think they use as much preservative as mass either--maybe that's something corn syrup has over cane sugar (shelf life)?
Cane sugar sweetened soda is not universally better. It's better in colas. But I think lemon lime stuff like sprite/dew tastes better with corn syrup. Same with Fanta.
what about faygo?
i know you get down with faygo.

Because there's a concerted effort to calcify our pineal glands with high fructose corn syrup is why.

Guys, please remember that political discussion is no longer permitted on HFBoards unless it is directly related to hockey. Due to trade policies regarding sugar, corn syrup vs. cane sugar is an inherently political topic. Please cease this discussion at once if you do not want to be infracted.
Ummm. There are.
